  3. Command Line Parameter Options                     Last Updated: 1/27/95
  4. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  5. This is a list of special Command Line Options available for BRE.
  6.  
  7. To use them, just add them to the end of the "BRE.EXE" in your Install
  8. Made Batch File [BRE.BAT] in your BBS Directory, ie. "BRE.EXE /LOCAL"
  9.  
  10. Name                               What it does
  11. ----                               ------------
  12. TEST                               This does a basic self-diagnostic test
  13.                                    on your setup of BRE.  It may help find
  14.                                    basic problems in your setup of the game.
  15.  
  16. RESET                              Resets BRE Game - Must be done when first
  17.                                    installed
  18.  
  19. VIEW                               Allows you to View players, as well as
  20.                                    Delete them, and change their UserNames
  21.  
  22. REGISTER                           After you recieve your registration code,
  23.                                    run this to register your copy.
  24.  
  25. SCORES                             Create ANSI/ASCII Scores Files
  26.  
  27. /LOCKED=#####                      This will set a Locked Baud Rate to #####
  28.                                    This option may also by set in RESOURCE.DAT
  29.  
  30. /LOCAL                             Runs game LOCAL Only - Not necessary
  31.                                    for local play though
  32.  
  33. IPSETUP                            This will automatically set up your
  34.                                    PLANDATA.BBS file if you'd like.  You
  35.                                    can also use a text editor to create
  36.                                    this file.  This file is necessary for
  37.                                    InterPlanetary play.
  38.  
  39. NODELIST                           Accesses Nodelist Manager - This allows
  40.                                    you to add nodes, edit nodes, and delete
  41.                                    nodes in the current BRNODES.DAT file.
  42.                                    This can also be done through a normal
  43.                                    Text Editor.
  44.  
  45. PLANETARY                          Daily Maintainence for Inter-Planetary
  46.                                    Warfare - This can be multiple times during
  47.                                    the day to speed gameplay up by reading
  48.                                    inbound and creating outbound datafiles.
  49.  
  50. INBOUND                            Runs only INBOUND section of BRE Planetary.
  51.                                    If you want to run BRE PLANETARY after each
  52.                                    play, run BRE INBOUND before BRE.EXE
  53.                                    NOTE:  This will also ROUTE outbound files.
  54.                                    The INBOUND command can be used with any
  55.                                    mailer system.
  56.  
  57. OUTBOUND                           Same as Inbound, except run AFTER BRE.EXE
  58.                                    Only processes OUTBOUND files.
  59.  
  60. FULL                               Runs a full game of Interplanetary BRE,
  61.                                    combining BRE INBOUND, a player, and
  62.                                    BRE OUTBOUND into one step.
  63.                                    Equivalent to running:
  64.                                      BRE INBOUND
  65.                                      BRE
  66.                                      BRE OUTBOUND
  67.  
  68. UPDATE                             In Inter-BBS Game, sends Configuration
  69.                                    Updates to All Nodes to make sure all
  70.                                    nodes have the same config.  Automatically
  71.                                    done internally.  Only can be done by BBS #1.
  72.                                    This is no longer necessary, but can be
  73.                                    run if necessary in special circumstances
  74.  
  75. PLAYERLIST                         This option, for League Coordinators only,
  76.                                    will create a list of all the players on
  77.                                    all the BBSes in the game.
  78.  
  79. GOOIEREMOVE                        This removes a Gooie Kablooie being created
  80.                                    On your system.  This is used if the gooie
  81.                                    is created by a "bad" user or because of
  82.                                    target changes, etc.
  83.  
  84. ALLIES                             Allows you to modify current alliance
  85.                                    status with other planets
  86.  
  87. REQUEST                            Creates Global Recon Updates and Requests
  88.  
  89. RECON                              Creates Global Recon Updates only
  90.  
  91. ROUTEINFO                          For Coordinator BBSes
  92.                                    Analyzes routing paths producing files
  93.                                    containing information on all file paths
  94.                                    and bad/circular routing.
  95.  
  96. /DETAILED                          This will allow you to see compression and
  97.                                    information on individual data packets
  98.                                    that are sent out.  Used with PLANETARY,
  99.                                    OUTBOUND, and INBOUND options.
  100.                                    (ie, BRE PLANETARY /DETAILED)
  101.  
  102. BBSINFO                            This will create a text file listing all
  103.                                    BBS's, their BRE versions, and the date of
  104.                                    their last recon
  105.  
  106. EDITOR                             This will bring up a configuration editor
  107.                                    allowing you to change the current setup
  108.                                    of the game.  In InterBBS games, this
  109.                                    option is only available to the League
  110.                                    Coordinator.
  111.  
  112. LASTPACKET                         This creates a text file listing the last
  113.                                    date you processed a packet from every
  114.                                    other BBS.
